Almost two decades have elapsed since I was in Aussie. I'd been invited to a wedding in Hobart for April-1... with a date like that there was no telling what might happen, but it was a fine excuse for a 3-month trip.

The first shot was taken at a park in a northern suberb of Melbourne. The next three (obviously) are of Melbourne.

Then a flight to Hobart - which lies a couple of miles across the water behind where I'm standing. I was walking to Bellarive youth hostel - not far from where the next two shots were taken .

After the wedding I went hitchhiking around Tasmania. Beginning with the east coast, first stop was a hamlet called Swansea.

The next day a retired guy gives me a lift and stops at a small zoo for a cuppa where among other weird life-forms we meet a kangaroo and a Tasmanian devil - which being nocturnal was half-asleep but suddenly yawned fearsomely, revealing a set of teeth that's the probable cause for its name.

The next 8-shots are along that same coast, up to St Helens - from where I headed inland...
